  This was a great place to get out of the rain. It is on a corner and has a walk-up bar. We had an appetizer and a couple of drinks. The staff was very friendly. There is also an ice cream shop next door, the smell of waffle cones was wonderful.

  The management/owner was very rude. They were nice at first and helped direct us to a less expensive place to dine in the nearby area. But when we returned to our car we found we had locked our keys inside our car. The kids were ready for bed and stuck standing outside of the car while we waited for help to unlock it. A couple of the kids that were with our group picked a few flowers that were in front of the restaurants door out of boredom. The male manager/owner came out and was very rude as to how he told us to get control of our kids and that they can't be tearing up the place. He repeated it three times and was gesturing in an exaggerated manner. All he had to do was be polite and ask us to please keep them from picking the flowers.
  
  As tourists this could have greatly put a sour taste in our mouth for our whole trip to Joseph. I doubt that's how the city wants to be remembered.
  
  We have the upmost respect for the area and it's local businesses but this kind of reaction just shouldn't have happened.
  
  Thankfully though we had a great dinner at the R&R Drive In, and everyone else we have had interactions with were amazingly polite. We don't usually write reviews, especially for a place we didn't even eat at but actions like this can easily turn someone off from wanting to eat at an establishment.

  My wife and I had dinner here this past week. (August 2015) The food was very good but the service was very poor. We were told to sit anywhere, so we took a seat at an outside patio area. We were given menus shortly after we were seated but waited at least 15 minutes before a waitress came by. In fact, another couple came in after us but ordered their food before us. After ordering drinks, our meal finally arrived. My wife reminded me that we're in Wallowa County, not Multnomah County. She simply said things are slower here. We enjoyed our meal but the help could be a bit more attentive to their customers.
